Since summer 2014, Liverpool have a net spend of just £18m on transfers.

Manchester City, who have won the title this term, are on £496m.

Our rivals United are not far behind on £417m.

Jurgen Klopp actually has a negative net-spend since arriving in October 2015.

On Wednesday, Liverpool take on AS Roma in the Champions League semi-finals, with a 5-2 lead from the first-leg.

Obviously, we’ve made huge sums by selling Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Coutinho – but these are players we brought in for less than £30m combined – so deserve enormous credit for turning them into world-beaters.

Klopp showed with his £75m purchase of Virgil van Dijk, now the world’s most expensive defender, and upcoming £50m Naby Keita deal, that he’s not afraid to spend on the right players.

This summer, he has millions available to him, should he find the right players…

We’re in need of a no.6, a playmaker and better backup for the superb front-three.

A new keeper and another centre-back would go down nicely, too!
