As a teenager, Robbo was up in Scotland, considering packing in the game for a normal job.
But his progression has been incredible and he’s now regarded by many as the best left-back in England.
He’s quick, feisty and hard-working – and the fact we snapped him up for £8m last season is jaw-dropping.
At the time, many doubted Jurgen Klopp, angry that we were not signing a more established name.
But who’d swap Robbo for Benjamin Mendy, Jonas Hector – or any of the other linked left-backs we ignored – now?
Literally nobody.
If he continues at his current level, especially if we secure a Champions League victory, he could eventually go down as an all-time Liverpool great.
But one step at a time!
