Klopp explains Mo Salah’s mini ‘goal-drought’

Mo Salah hasn’t scored in three games, two of which were away from home against Roma and Chelsea, which for a right-winger, isn’t really a big deal.

However, the Egyptian had notched a ludicrous 43 times before our home draw with Stoke a week ago – so for Liverpool fans – it feels like he’s in a bit of a rut!

He’s also showed less running and seems to be playing in a more central position than cutting in from the right, where he has previously been able to pick up plenty of the ball.

Jurgen Klopp though isn’t worried and is backing Liverpool’s no.11 to bounce back.

“It happens to all of us. Now he played twice against former teammates,” Klopp told the official website.

“Against Rome, before the game they were very friendly – ‘Hello Mo, how are you?’ hug here, hug there – and in the game [physical].

“You have to deal with that, he can do much better, he will score again no doubt about that, but [versus Chelsea] there was not space for nothing. He can play with no space, actually, but not today. That’s it. All good.”

Salah has probably been the best player on the planet this season, but with such incredible form comes constant analysis and when the goals dry up, criticism.

In truth, he’s looked completely shattered the past week, and we think he might be carrying a number of niggling injuries.

Thankfully, he now has a week’s break before the crucial Brighton clash, and then a fortnight before the Champions League Final.

We’re backing him to bag in both!
