LFC owner gives special message to supporters…

Liverpool owner John W. Henry has thanked supporters for our role in helping the team qualify for the Champions League Final.

The fans have been incredible throughout the entire European campaign, especially at home to Manchester City and AS Roma – two matches in which the atmosphere visibly affected our opponents and helped Liverpool secure impressive victories.

Now, we face Real Madrid in the Final in Kiev on May 26th, with our American owner set to be in attendance – something that hasn’t happened an awful lot this term.

“I am very, very excited to go to the Champions League final. This is for our fans around the world, this is what this club is all about – trying to win European championships,” he said, reported in the Echo.

“It’s for Jurgen and everyone associated with the club.

“Our fans really pushed us past Manchester City, they pushed us past Roma so that when we were playing the away legs, we were already in such a great position.

“Jurgen has done a tremendous job, as has everybody associated with the club.”

The best things FSG have done for Liverpool is renovate the Main Stand and bring Jurgen Klopp to the club.

The German is tied until 2022 and we really hope and believe he can achieve some real success before he moves on.

Henry’s faith in Klopp is unmoving, and in truth, he’s the perfect manager to work under a board that isn’t especially extravagant in the transfer market.

We’ll see if this summer, Klopp is armed with the kind of budget necessary to compete at the highest levels – because at the moment – he’s doing it with one hand tied behind his back.
