(Video) Watch journalist break Yerry Mina to Liverpool news

It’s not often you see somebody on TV break an exclusive transfer story that’s completely fabricated.

That’s why this Yerry Mina to Liverpool story confuses us a little.

The English press didn’t know anything about it, but El Chiringuito TV, who have over a million followers on Twitter, confidently proclaimed the news on a Spanish broadcast.

According to them, Mina will join on loan next season in a deal which surely has an option to buy included.

The 24-year-old only arrived in January, but with Barca bringing in prodigal midfielder Arthur for the 2018/19 campaign, they need to open up a place for another non-EU player.

Below, you can watch the moment it became international news…

Liverpool do want another centre-back – a young one who can improve and grow – but we do not know if Mina is the man chosen.

He’s brutishly physically and can play out from the back, so we admire his traits, although have seen Barca fans describe him as error-prone, too. And he’s slow, which is not something beneficial for any defender, let alone Premier League ones.

But we’ll watch this space. It seems the summer transfer plans are already very much taking shape.
