The Portuguese legend is one of the greatest goalscorers in the history of the game and has made a habit or arriving on the biggest stage in the latest part of his career.

Now 33, Ronaldo plays as a centre-forward rather than a left-winger, but will still drift out to that flank, which as right-back, Trent will be charged of looking after.

According to the Scouse teenager, practising against Mo Salah in training puts him in good stead.

“You have to show him respect but not too much, because that’s when you get taken advantage of. You have a job to do and whoever I am up against I will try to come out on top,” he said, cited in the Express.

“Obviously, the right preparation for these kind of tests is training against world-class players like Mo. All the team push each other every single day, and every day we see an improvement in all of us.”

There’s a fair chance Real Madrid will try to isolate Alexander-Arnold, but so did Manchester City and Leroy Sane got pocketed by him.

So long as James Milner helps Trent out, we’re backing him to do the business – again.

And if he doesn’t, we’ve still got the goals of our front-three, which will hopefully fire us to Champions League glory.
