Klopp wants talks with £135m Liverpool target and mother over possible deal

Jurgen Klopp is supposedly eager to bring Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool this summer after the revelation of his availability on loan.

The Reds have made no secret of their desire to bolster their attacking strength in depth in order to avoid relying so heavily on their front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino during the 2018/2019 campaign.

Dembele has struggled to find his top form since signing for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund last summer, with injuries admittedly hampering his efforts to hold down a starting spot.

The Catalan giants are seemingly open to allowing the Frenchman to leave on a temporary basis as a means of gaining valuable minutes and rediscovering his rhythm in the process.

He embodies the type of player lacking in confidence designed to flourish under Klopp’s man management and in Liverpool’s free-flowing attacking system.

Klopp is keen to sign the 21-year-old and is willing to sit down for talks with Dembele and his family to discuss potential tactical plans for him, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The intensity of Klopp’s approach always runs the risk of burning key players out and contributing towards injuries, as evidenced towards the end of last season.

To grant Liverpool’s front three some additional rest would be a significant boost to the team’s longevity across a season and effort to maintain an unrivalled work ethic.

Introducing Dembele, or a player of similar pace and invention, is the calibre of move required for the Reds to mount a sustained Premier League title challenge.

Competition for an attacking force that looks impossible to dislodge from the starting lineup would mark a stern warning sign to the club’s top-six rivals.
