Transfers… Never easy with Liverpool!
There’s some slightly worried supporters right now, after Lyon tweeted that Nabil Fekir’s transfer to Liverpool is not yet complete.
Here’s a translation of what was said this morning:
“The information on the transfer of Nabil Faulkner is false. Olympique Lyonnais categorically denies the false information disseminated by many media about the transfer of Nabil Faulkner to the Liverpool club.
Dans cette période de transferts où la moindre rumeur est souvent présentée comme une réalité, l’Olympique Lyonnais rappelle que seules les informations diffusées par le club sur son site internet font foi.

However, RMC stated that Fekir has passed his medical at Clairefontaine and Liverpool are waiting to complete paperwork before announcing the deal to the stock market.

Lyon have a habit of doing this, too. Last summer, Jean-Michel Aulas publicly said he wasn’t going to sell Alexandre Lacazette before Arsenal announced a deal just hours later [Football London].
We’re interpreting Lyon’s quotes as a suggestion that the mooted fees are wrong, rather than that a deal won’t happen – and fans should simply wait for official announcement instead of celebrating media claims.
It seems Aulas is playing games, but there’s no way every source close to both clubs is wrong, especially when Fekir has undergone a medical already.
We still hope it can get done today, as per every reliable report, but now have to accept it may be slightly delayed, sadly.
