Nabil Fekir’s extravagant Liverpool wage named

Nabil Fekir is waiting to complete his medical and will be announced as a Liverpool player at some point today.

That’s according to every respected source around, including Paul Joyce of the Times.

French publication Le Parisien say personal terms have also been reached and the 24-year-old will earn €700k/month, which translates as €163k/week, or £143k/week!

Nice work if you can get it…

By our reckoning, this makes Fekir the third highest paid player in the squad behind Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino – although new deals for Sadio Mane and Mo Salah would likely eclipse these, with the Guardian suggesting discussions are underway.

It’s not set in stone, but it makes sense for Fekir to take the vacant no.10 shirt, which has been available since Coutinho’s January exit.

The France international has the talent and desire to adequately replace Phil, who was undeniably one of the most skilful footballers we’ve seen at Anfield during the Premier League era.

But with the Coutinho money, we’ve bought Naby Keita and Fabinho as well as Fekir.
