The pair played together at Stamford Bridge, before Jose Mourinho stupidly shipped the Egyptian out to Italy, to Liverpool’s eventual benefit.

Salah ended up on 32 goals in the Premier League this term, which is the most any player has ever scored in a 38 game season.

Overall, he bagged 44, a quite outrageous figure considering he starts on the right wing and scored just one penalty…

“When I reached 20 goals, I spoke with Didier Drogba,” Salah told L’Equipe Magazine, cited by Liverpool’s official website. “He told me: ‘Please, break the record!’ to which I responded laughing: ‘No worries, I will!’

“And I managed [it]. So I thought to myself: ‘I have quite a few games to play before the end of the season, I can break the all-time record!.’

“It’s a great source of joy for me.”

Drogba bagged exactly 100 Premier League goals for Chelsea, so after one season, Salah is just 68 behind him!

We’re not expecting the Egyptian to score quite as many as 2017/18, but he’ll definitely notch twenty plus.

The reason we say this is because the 25-year-old is quite ruthless in his ability to get into goalscoring positions.

We wouldn’t say he’s the best finisher, but his movement and tenacity in the box is quite literally unrivalled.
