‘A Christmas derby means one thing’ – Reds react to 2018/19 Premier League fixtures

Liverpool fans have reacted positively to what many have deemed a potentially kind start to the 2018/2019 Premier League season.

Thursday morning’s fixtures release revealed the Reds will start the campaign at home to West Ham, before facing Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester over the following three weeks.

The opening quartet of games are then followed by Liverpool becoming the first team to face Tottenham at their new stadium.

A tough festive period has surfaced as an area of concern, primarily due to just two days separating a home clash with Arsenal and a New Year’s Day trip to face reigning champions Manchester City.

December will also entail the first Merseyside derby of the season at Anfield on the first day of the month, before Jurgen Klopp’s side host Manchester United two weeks later.

The schedule grants Liverpool a reasonable opportunity to produce a winning start to the season, whilst Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolves await as a favourable conclusion.

On the back of Sadio Mane’s 94th minute winner against Everton in December last season, one Red is banking on a repeat.

Here’s how Reds reacted…
