Yerry Mina insists he has has sights firmly set on a future with Barcelona following rumours linking him to Liverpool.

The Colombian defender only joined the Catalan giants in January but has seen his immediate future come into question in light of his lack of game time.

It was reported earlier this year that Mina had informed his teammates a deal had been agreed for him to join Liverpool on loan ahead of the 2018/2019 campaign.

Far-fetched suggestions eventually failed to materialise, with Mina recently expressing his desire to continue his development at the Nou Camp.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “My dream is to make history with Barcelona; the best club in the world for me,” per Football365.

“That’s why I try to do things right. I hope to have the confidence of the coach and if not I will continue working.”

Mina secured Colombia’s place in the knockout stages of the World Cup on Thursday as his towering header earned a 1-0 win over Sadio Mane’s Senegal.

He played alongside Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez in a youthful Colombian defence boasting the pace and athleticism capable of handing England a tough evening in Tuesday’s Round of 16 clash.

Rumours Mina would on his way to Anfield were sketchy at best, with Jurgen Klopp having so far displayed few signs of targeting another central defender during the transfer window.
