Video: What Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said to Naby Keita as he welcomed new teammate

While Naby Keita settles into life at Liverpool, he bumped into a new teammate this week with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on hand to welcome him.

Sadly for the 24-year-old, this summer has been about rehabilitation and recovery rather than playing at the World Cup for England as he continues his comeback from sustaining knee ligament damage.

Having reported back at the club earlier than most, he just so happened to be around as Keita was familiarising himself with his surroundings at Melwood, and was quick to do his part to make his new teammate feel welcome.

The pair exchanged a quick hug, as seen in the video below, and it was nice to see Oxlade-Chamberlain in good spirits as after being asked how he was, he replied: “Yeah not bad. Not as good as you, but I’m OK. Soon!”

It’s hoped that he can recover as swiftly as possible to make his mark next season, as alongside Fabinho and Keita, Jurgen Klopp’s squad is undoubtedly getting stronger.

In contrast, he can’t afford to rush his comeback either at the risk of suffering a setback, and so it’s good to see him back in pre-season mode already and he’ll likely be seeing a lot more of Keita around the training ground in the coming weeks with majority of the squad still on their break or featuring at the World Cup.
