Alisson has to pass his medical and then he’ll be announced as a Liverpool player.

Glorious!

The Guardian has confirmed that we’ve agreed a £66m fee with AS Roma and that this afternoon, the Brazilian no.1 reached personal terms with us, too.

Chelsea are out of the running and the player is ours, providing nothing weird comes up during his medical check – which according to Fabrizio Romano – should take place tomorrow.

His colleague Di Marzio confirms the news, with both stating the 25-year-old will fly to Liverpool tonight and finalise terms.

Barring anything very out of the ordinary, Liverpool now own the world’s most expensive goalkeeper – not something we thought we’d be writing back in 2017!

Since then, the club has purchased Virgil van Dijk, Naby Keita and Fabinho – not to mention Mo Salah last summer – among others.

Our recruitment, in short, has been jaw-dropping, and it puts us in genuine contention for major silverware.
