So confident is he that Liverpool are going to win the race for AS Roma stopper Alisson, transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his website that the deal could be announced in two days.
“Liverpool are now holding the ball of the situation and want to close it [the transfer] in a short time, especially if Chelsea could soon lose Hazard & Courtois to Real Madrid,” he writes.
“Liverpool is still ahead for Alisson at the moment, to such an extent that it could be done in the next few days.”
Alisson is currently holidaying in Sardinia, but he’ll easily be able to board a flight to John Lennon and put pen to paper once Liverpool agree a fee with Roma.
Brazilian outlet UOL, the most respected in Alisson’s homeland, has confirmed that the starting goalkeeper for El Selecao will depart and that Merseyside is his most likely destination.
We were genuinely worried that Liverpool would enter 2018/19 without an elite stopper purchased, but hopefully by the end of the week, this transfer will be wrapped up.
Alisson is Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice and yet again, Liverpool are attempting to make a serious statement in the market.
