Klopp gives glorious fitness update on Mohamed Salah

Jurgen Klopp insists Mohamed Salah is back to full fitness after recovering from the shoulder injury that disrupted the end of his season.

Salah endured a tough World Cup as he visibly felt the effects of the injury that cut short his Champions League final against Real Madrid back in May.

The Egyptian was rested for his nation’s opener against Uruguay but still looked fragile upon his return in his second and third group games.

Having enjoyed an extended summer break, Liverpool’s goalscoring talisman has seemingly regained his strength in time to play a role in pre-season.

Per the Liverpool Echo, Klopp said: “Mo is fully recovered. He’s completely fine now. He looks full of joy and he’s really happy to be back.”

“It was nice to see them yesterday for the first time – and the same for Sadio (Mane).”

“They had an intense year but they are really looking forward to the season already. It’s good to have them back and they can start training now.”

Salah is part of the 29-man squad that flew to the USA on Saturday, but won’t feature in Sunday’s International Champions Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund.

A fresh line of supply awaits the 44-goal forward following the arrival of Naby Keita and Fabinho as added midfield creativity and steel.

His emphatic debut season on Merseyside has since turned the focus to whether he can replicate the same prolific form as Liverpool look to mount a Premier League title charge.

On the evidence of his fitness testing at Melwood on Friday, Salah is ready to pick up where he left off.
