We actually beat them on three occasions, once domestically and twice in the Champions League, but there’s no argument who had the better season or is currently the better side.

For Liverpool to win the Premier League, we have to overcome a City team that is brilliant in all areas.

This summer, we’ve done our best to close the gap, by bringing in sensational players such as Alisson, Naby Keita and Fabinho.

That trio, along with Xherdan Shaqiri (and maybe one more?) will boost our chances – but City are still heavy favourites and we’ll need some luck and basically no major injuries to put ourselves in contention next spring.

But with Jurgen Klopp in charge and Mo Salah in the side, anything is possible.
