Uh oh…

Here we go again!

Jurgen Klopp has finally discussed Nabil Fekir, and instead of ruling out the transfer, which he does unequivocally every time Liverpool aren’t in for someone, indicated that we could go in for the Frenchman if Lyon change their current stance.

“If something doesn’t happen in two weeks, it’s fine… If something does happen you have to be ready to react,” he said, suggesting to us that Liverpool still want Fekir (which is obvious considering we targeted a playmaker and haven’t bought one yet) and would go back for him if Lyon are willing to do business.

And think about it – Klopp could quite easily claim nothing is happening and move on.

For us, this shows that if Fekir kicks up enough of a fuss and demands a Lyon exit, Jean Michel-Aulas may decide to re-enter negotiations and restructure Liverpool’s potential financing of the transfer.

Klopp clearly wants it to happen in an ideal world, although he’s rightly happy with the options currently at his disposal.
