Jurgen Klopp did not sound too happy about that amazing piece of Alisson skill against Brighton today.
The Liverpool manager spoke after our 1-0 win this evening, and insisted he preferred the Brazilian’s amazing point-blank range save towards the end that helped us hang on to all three points.

While we all love the entertainment factor of watching Alisson, one does have to wonder if this obsession with technically gifted goalkeepers is going a tad far.
Of course, Alisson is clearly great on the ball and that’s a bonus if he can help us with our passing play out from the back, but you do just feel he’s going to end up paying the price for moments like that chip over the opponent’s head at some point.
I’m hardly going to complain – he showed with his save that he’s a serious shot-stopper and not just a show-pony, but he did have one moment when he took a heavy touch that almost let Brighton in.
Here’s Neil Jones of Goal with what Klopp had to say after the game:
Klopp: "[The Alisson chip] was not too cool. I had a few centre halves, like Mats Hummels, who did things like this. Alisson is obviously a very good footballing goalkeeper! I like the save more than the chip!" #LFC
