You probably can’t (and shouldn’t) read too much into it, but Nabil Fekir looks pretty downbeat in his photoshoot for the Lyon season.
The Frenchman is captaining the Ligue 1 giants this term after missing out on his dream Anfield switch earlier this summer.

Liverpool had agreed a fee, personal terms and had even done Fekir’s introductory club interviews, but due to an issue which arose during the player’s medical, we pulled out of a deal.
The player himself has claimed Liverpool didn’t explain him to why, too.
“I heard several things. The real reason? Only they know it,” he said.
This saddens us as we’re sure the player would have been a massive hit on Merseyside, but there must have been a serious issue with his knees on the medical for us to pull out of a deal so instantaneously.
He obviously got himself prepared for his dream move, after being convinced of our project by Jurgen Klopp, and Reds on Twitter have sent him good luck messages after these unhappy snaps!
Perhaps we’ll secure him for a significantly reduced fee in January? Who knows.

@NabilFekir There is alway the January Transfer window. Dont give up hope. play the best you can for Lyon with a big smile on your face and no doubt Liverpool will come knocking again. They wont come knocking if your not giving your all.
