Loris Karius has joined Besiktas in Turkey on a two-year loan deal, and we truly hope he can re-find the form that originally caused Liverpool to buy him.
But the German will forever be haunted by what happened in Kiev at the end of last season, when his two mistakes cost us the Champions League Final – despite the fact he was suffering from concussion at the time.
What doesn’t help is fellow professionals mocking him so openly.
Last month, Marcos Asensio was seen doing so with Spain, and now the same has happened with various PSG players – who repeatedly labelled Thomas Meunier a ‘Karius’ after the Belgian right-back fumbled a ball in training.
You can watch the clip below.
We can’t exactly stop people from doing this, so would just urge Karius to keep his head down and let his performances on the pitch do the talking.
He definitely needed to leave Liverpool to resurrect his career – and we now hope that’s a possibility.
