This is smart from Liverpool, as it protects the value of the young winger and enables us to loan him next year, sell him for a big profit or hopefully bring him into the first-team set-up if he has a stormer in Ligue 1.

The Reds did the same with Ovie Ejaria, Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson earlier in the summer.

Ojo is quick and powerful, but hasn’t used his directness to provide genuine end product during his fledgling career to date.

The youngster played 22 times for Fulham last term, scoring four goals, but the consensus is that he didn’t live up to the hype.

Still, he has time to fulfil his potential and providing he gets minutes and stays fit, Reims might be the perfect club for him to gain confidence and begin to show what he can do.
