Klopp gives Mignolet a warning in press-conference…

Jurgen Klopp is clearly not too impressed with Simon Mignolet, for the Belgian’s grumpy comments in the media.

The keeper recently labelled Liverpool’s decision to loan Loris Karius and not him ‘bizarre,’ stating he’s not happy that he’ll have to sit on the bench behind Alisson until at least January.

Klopp gave Mignolet a polite suggestion in today’s press-conference though that he should keep his feelings in house…

“I would say in general discussing your individual problems in public does not make too much sense. It is better you speak to each other. I am a big believer in that,” he warned (cited by Chris Bascombe).

We can actually understand Mignolet’s angst. He’s been nothing buy loyal since signing in 2013 and his conduct has always been perfect. Karius played from Christmas until the end of last season, so it’s only natural for the older man to expect to be allowed an exit.

We’re obviously happy to have him as a no.2, but may have to bring in a new backup stopper this winter, allowing Mignolet to depart.

Klopp may use Mignolet in the EFL Cup, with a fixture due to be played against Chelsea in a few weeks’ time at Anfield.

Personally, we’d stick with Alisson, because he enables us to play our usual passing style much better.
