Statistic proves Mo Salah is already dissecting Premier League defences

Mohamed Salah has made a menacing start to the new season in his bid to defy suggestions of a fluke 2017/2018 campaign.

The Egyptian has already registered two goals in four games, but it’s been his responsibilities as a creator that have arguably caught the eye.

Whilst teammate Sadio Mane has made it four goals in four to become Liverpool’s top scorer, Salah has emerged as a key influence in teeing his teammates up.

He is now level with Manchester City’s David Silva with a league-high 13 chances created so far and has also notched one assist.

Salah endured a tough afternoon at the King Power stadium as Liverpool shut out a determined second half performance from Leicester to seal a 2-1 win.

Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner was the source of raised eyebrows in the first half when he fired wide from around 10-yards out.

It set the tone for his performance as Leicester denied him the space the operate in, much like they did with the likes of both Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Despite Liverpool being far from their slick and explosive selves, Salah and his fellow frontmen still managed to showcase the interchanging that makes them so difficult to contain.

Salah was occasionally seeing drifting over to the right-hand side or deep into midfield to collect the ball and consequently pave the way for Mane or Firmino to shift across or remain high.

To have won 12 points out of a possible 12 without moving into second gear is an ominous sign for the rest of the league.
