Klopp makes Alisson decision & says he’s ‘happy’ mistake happened

Alisson will remain as Liverpool’s no.1 in the Premier League and the Champions League, obviously.

That’s been confirmed by the Guardian, while Goal have actually quoted Jurgen Klopp, who not only has laid some of the blame at his team-mates’ doors, but also said he’s pleased the incident has happened now so Alisson can learn from it.

Firmino points out Van Dijk’s role in Alisson blunder

“He is 0.0 per cent arrogant, but he’s confident and he can do it. It’s like when our centre-halves play passes,” he told Goal.

“They have to play passes and defend and all that stuff. I don’t look for anyone responsible, the final one was Alisson but we should have cleared the situation before.

“It wasn’t a situation where you pass the ball back. We make decisions in a second and in a second you realise, ‘That was the wrong one’.

“I think that was this situation. To be 100 per cent honest I am really happy it happened, because we don’t have to wait for it now.”

We probably agree with Klopp in the most part, here.

The over-analysis of the passes before his blunder is unnecessary, in our opinion. The ball wasn’t put directly on Alisson’s right boot, but it was hardly in a difficult position to put his foot through it.

It was a foul, however, and hopefully if a situation arises like that again the officials check to see if the onrushing attacker actually gets the ball.

Alisson will now play for Brazil against USA and El Salvador, before returning to Liverpool to face Spurs at Anfield.

You can be certain that the Tottenham fans will focus on him every time the ball goes back, but it’s up to Alisson to weather the storm.
