Hendo names LFC star who can improve most

Jordan Henderson has waxed lyrical about his England and Liverpool team-mate Joe Gomez.

The youngster has been incredible for Liverpool so far, helping us concede just one goal in our first four matches, all of which have been won.

As a result, he’s back in Gareth Southgate’s England squad and is expected to feature against Spain and Switzerland in the upcoming Nations League matches.

Henderson thinks Gomez is already at a very high level, but reckons the 21-year-old has such a high ceiling there’s actually plenty of improvement left in his tank.

“He’s already very good but he can be even better,” Henderson told Sky Sports.

“He’s still very young. He’s still improving, still learning and there’s no better place to do that than at Liverpool with the players that he’s got around him and the manager.

“I’m excited for him because I know how good he can be and he’s got the right mentality as well. He’s very mature for his age. His feet are firmly on the ground and he can be as good as he wants to be.”

Alongside Virgil van Dijk, Gomez has looked extremely comfortable and despite the fact Dejan Lovren is returning after the international break, we reckon the former two will be our first-choice pairing until they give Jurgen Klopp a reason otherwise.

The competition for places is superb though, before even mentioning Joel Matip, who will have hopes of getting into the side himself.
