Adrien Rabiot is the latest player linked to Liverpool, since the revelation in ESPN that Jurgen Klopp has already made contact with the Frenchman’s representatives about a potential 2019 Bosman transfer.
The 23-year-old currently plies his trade at PSG, but could depart the perennial Ligue 1 champions as early as January should he not pen new terms.
Now another spurious link has emerged, between Rabiot and our yet-to-play holding midfielder Fabinho!
Back in 2017, Rabiot suggested PSG should sign the Brazilian as a successor to Thiago Motta.
“It is important, in my opinion, to recruit a player who can succeed Thiago Motta,” Rabiot told But Football last year. “For this season, since Thiago, who turned 35, will not be able to play sixty matches this year. But also for the future.”
The thought of Fabinho up to speed anchoring, with the likes of Naby Keita, Rabiot and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain alongside him is very exciting!
For now though we have a solid group of midfielders and if Keita fulfils his potential we will have one who’s genuinely world-class.
