The Brazilian has been with us since 2015 and plays a very important role in keeping our latin contingent happy!
That used to include Coutinho and Lucas, but now stretches to Alberto Moreno and new signings Alisson and Fabinho.
The latter has explained the role Firmino has played in his adaptation, while stating he’s enjoying living in the city, too.
“My start has been good and the adaptation good. The pre-season was very good, we had nine friendlies and I played nine,” the 24-year-old told Globo Esporte, translated by the official website.
“It was good to play against English teams to see what the rhythm, the intensity and the physique is like. I am adapting to the team’s style of play. The more experienced players have helped me, the technical team as well.
“Me and my wife are liking the city, we already have a home. Firmino is being a great guy, his family has given a good support to me and Alisson.
“It’s been fine. Having Brazilians in the team helps. Now it’s really to make the debut. I’m fine, training well and prepared.”
All three of our Brazilians are away with El Selecao right now and are expected to start against USA on Saturday.
It’ll be Fabinho’s first minutes of the campaign, but we think he’ll come into contention following the international break, as Liverpool’s fixture list busies itself.
We’re pencilling him in for a full debut against Chelsea in the EFL Cup, although he could also start against PSG in the Champions League, if Klopp thinks he’ll benefit against the side he regularly faced while in France.
