Tottenham may have just lost a key player before Liverpool game

It looks like Spurs captain Hugo Lloris is losing his race to be fit for the weekend game with Liverpool.

Their skipper recently told RMC Sport that it was a possibility, but that no specific date has yet been named.

He missed the defeat to Watford with a thigh injury and France’s fixtures during the international break, too.

“Do I have a date of return? Not yet,” he began. “I’m going to work hard to get back and as quickly as possible. There may be a chance this weekend but we will see according to the progress of the week.”

Lloris has just received a £50,000 fine for drink driving, so although he’s unlikely to be in the best headspace right now, he’s still a top goalkeeper who importantly has always done well against us.

Unfortunately, so has his backup Michel Vorm, but we’d prefer the Dutchman to be guarding Tottenham’s net than the recently crowned World Cup winner.

Liverpool will be deploying Alisson between the sticks for the first time since his Leicester howler, and we can be completely sure he’ll be pressurised by both the opponents and the fans when the ball is at his feet.

But we back the Brazilian to remain composed and get through the test.
