Bradford City fans were in full voice as they demonstrated their support for Stephen Darby during Saturday’s clash with Doncaster Rovers.

The former Liverpool youth graduate recently announced his retirement from the game at the age of just 29 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Darby was a popular fan figure during his five-year spell with the Bantams between 2012 and 2017 , making 239 appearances across all competitions.

His time with the Yorkshire club came to an end last year, when he left to play under former Bradford manager Phil Parkinson at Bolton Wanderers.

Fans of his former club payed a touching tribute to the defender in the first game since the devastating news, with chants of his name breaking out in the second minute in recognition of his no.2 shirt number.
