‘Serious filth’ – Liverpool loanee starting to win Rangers fans over

Posted by

Ryan Kent is finally beginning to showcase his talent at Rangers after another superb display for the Scottish club.

The Liverpool loanee starred in Sunday’s 5-1 win over St Johnstone as Steven Gerrard’s men moved up to second place in the league and one point ahead of Celtic.

Besides tormenting Richard Foster throughout down the left-hand side, Kent also came close to getting on the scoresheet early in the second-half when his close-range effort rattled the bar.

Fortunately enough, Scott Arfield was at hand to control the rebound before firing home for Rangers’ third of the afternoon.

A rather unorthodox assist followed up an encouraging outing in last weekend’s 4-0 win over Dundee, with Kent starting and finishing an excellent team move to grab his first goal for the club. .

His last two league games have been a glaring contrast from his subdued performance in the defeat to Celtic, in which his attacking ambitions were often restricted by defensive duties.

Rangers fans are now beginning to see the quality that Gerrard was so keen to add in the summer.

Having struggled to make an impact in his respective spells with Freiburg and Bristol City last season, a season in Scotland is an ideal opportunity for Kent to express the attacking flair and confidence that has fuelled his bright reputation on Merseyside.

His technical ability has never been in doubt. It is just about him harnessing it and getting the experience he requires for the benefit of his decision-making and tactical awareness.

Adding regular goals and assists to his game is also a step he must start to take as he looks to make his mark in senior football. The same can be said for fellow loanee Ovie Ejaria.
