Eden Hazard gives classy reaction to Daniel Sturridge stunner

Eden Hazard admits he was pleased to see Daniel Sturridge back among the goals after his stunning equaliser at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Liverpool man came off the bench in the second half to rescue his side a richly-deserved point with a magnificent curling effort from 25-yards out in the 89th minute.

It marked the touch of individual ingenuity Jurgen Klopp’s men had been lacking throughout as they struggled to find the required conviction in the final-third.

Though disappointed to miss out on the win, Hazard was openly appreciative of his former teammate’s moment of brilliance.

Speaking after the game, the Belgian said: “I said to him that the goal was not bad, to be fair,” per Match of the Day.

“Maybe he try to be like me. But no, he’s a great, great player.”

“He had a lot of injuries in the last few years, but when he’s on the pitch he can create a goal like this. I’m happy for him. I’m not happy for Chelsea, but I’m happy for him.”

Hazard himself proved to be a familiar nuisance to the Reds and came close to boasting the winner after his opener in the 25th minute of the game.

A point was nothing more than Liverpool deserved on the day, having thrown men forward in search of a goal after the interval as well as once again defending formidably.

Sturridge’s late impact was a refreshing reminder of the strength in depth Klopp has the luxury of exploiting this season, with Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri both also offering their side a new lease of life in the second half.

To grab a point in a frustrating game this team may well have lost in recent years was a major sign that Liverpool are firmly in this Premier League title charge.
