Jurgen Klopp insists it is normal for Mohamed Salah to be disappointed with his form on the back of Saturday’s draw with Chelsea.
The Egyptian was replaced by Xherdan Shaqiri shortly after the hour mark having endured a frustrating day in front of goal.
He wasn’t alone in this respect, with his fellow frontmen Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane also struggling to provide the necessary conviction in the final third.
Salah was a prominent figure in the first-half as he worked well with Trent Alexander-Arnold to out-number and isolate left-back Marcos Alonso on numerous occasions.
Intelligent movement between Chelsea’s midfield and defence in central areas also saw him carve two good openings, only to see his eventual efforts fail to trouble Kepa.
Commenting on whether Salah was pleased with his efforts, Klopp told reporters: “Of course not. How could he be? It’s a normal situation. But now that’s what you have a manager for. We will talk about it.”
“It’s easy for me because I don’t read what you write, maybe the boys do a bit more but that doesn’t make too much sense at the moment because you will all dissect (the issue) – a big nice cut and you will find pretty much nothing.”

“That’s how it is, no problem whatsoever. It’s all fine. As long as he is working like he works and gets into the situations that he gets in, I’m completely fine and everything will be okay.”
A major positive to Salah’s start to the season is that his three goals across all competitions could have very easily been more.
The 2017/2018 Golden Boot winner and PFA Player of the Year is still finding himself in the same goal-scoring opportunities, and arguably playing the role of technician more often.
His missed opportunities somewhat epitomise an early attacking theme for Liverpool in regards to an unusual lack of composure and killer instinct.
For the Reds to remain unbeaten in the league and be nowhere near their most explosive and ruthless going forward can only bode well. Good luck to the team that catches them on the day when things begin to click into place.
