‘Simply Brutal…’ Klopp honest as ever in superb interview

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool have no choice but to bounce back from last night’s defeat to Napoli.

It wasn’t so much the 1-0 loss that upset fans, but the manner in which we went down without a fight, having zero shots on target for the first time under the German’s reign.

For some reason, our fullbacks rarely crossed the halfway line and we seemed to play defensively, which simply doesn’t suit us at all.

The manager though has explained how the ‘brutal’ run of fixtures potentially played some part in the result.

Since the last international break, we’ve played Spurs, PSG, Chelsea twice and now Napoli. On Sunday, it’s Manchester City. No rest for the wicked, eh?

We’ve had Pep Guardiola’s number at Anfield during Klopp’s tenure, but our rivals are in significantly better form and will have had an extra day’s rest from the Champions League.

It’s crucial that the crowd is at its most vibrant and intimidating for the opposition.
