City boss Guardiola makes interesting Mo Salah vs. Sergio Aguero claim

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that Mo Salah is no match for Sergio Aguero – because he has not scored goals for long enough to make the comparison.

Via the Liverpool Echo, the City boss said: “[Salah] is younger and it was his first year back in England since his time at Chelsea, so we will see in the future.

“A guy who has the quality to score 50 goals in a season always has that quality, but football is all about ups and downs.

“How many years has Sergio scored all those goals, eight or nine years? For Salah it was the first one so we will see in seven or eight years.”

Aguero has never scored at Anfield but has notched 207 times in 302 appearances for City since signing from Atletico Madrid.

It will be up to the Egyptian on Sunday afternoon to prove Guardiola wrong – if the Reds do get the three points thanks to Salah, comparisons between the two talismen will be unavoidable.
