Liverpool handed timely fitness boost ahead of Huddersfield clash

Liverpool are set to welcome back Adam Lallana when they resume their Premier League title charge following the current international break.

The midfielder has managed just three minutes of action so far this season and has been sidelined with a groin injury for the past seven games across all competitions.

Lallana is looking to reestablish himself as a key figure in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans having played just 15 times for the Reds last season.

He is now in line to return to action in his side’s upcoming clash away to Huddersfield Town, reports the Times’ Paul Joyce.

His availability marks a useful boost for Klopp as he strives to juggle Liverpool’s involvement on both the domestic and European stages.

Lallana could prove a key option at a time where Liverpool are struggling to supply the required midfield creativity in support of their front three.

Recent outings against Napoli and Manchester City exhibited the Reds missing the kind of playmaking presence equipped to split the opposition midfield and defence.

Whilst Lallana doesn’t give Klopp a conventional no.10, he does offer the intelligent movement and finesse to operate on the half-turn capable of making him a vital bridge.

The Englishman also notoriously poses as a lead enforcer of the intensity and work ethic that Liverpool’s explosive counterattacking approach so often functions on.

With James Milner likely to be out for a short while through injury, Lallana’s return comes at an ideal time.
