There was already very strong rumours that Fekir had already done his introductory club interviews, following this picture being leaked back in the summer, but the latest revelations confirm it.
Fekir stayed at Lyon after Liverpool pulled out of discussions due to an issue with the player’s knee showing up in the medical.
As a result, the club thought the fee we’d agreed to pay was dangerous for a player who could suffer chronic issues later in his career and we pulled out of a deal.
We have actually lacked a playmaker this season who’s capable of linking midfield and attack – so it remains to be seen if this position will be targeted in the January transfer window.
