Liverpool’s opponents ravaged by injuries before crunch clash

Liverpool face Red Star tomorrow evening at Anfield, but the Serbians will not be at their strongest for the clash.

They’ll actually be without their biggest name Marko Marin, formerly of Chelsea, as well as left-back Milan Rodic and midfielder Jonathan Cafu, reports the Echo.

Vujadin Savic is also a doubt for the tie, which Liverpool simply have to win – and hopefully win well.

Red Star are waltzing their domestic league, but showed in the Champions League last time out against PSG that they’re a long way behind the best sides in Europe, going down 6-1 in France.

Liverpool’s recent record at home in Europe has been jaw-dropping, scoring 27 goals at Anfield in our past seven games, going back to last season.

That includes wins over Manchester City, Roma and PSG, so if we hit the ground running early on, Red Star could be in trouble.

A big win would be fantastic, as Liverpool have so far struggled to hit the offensive heights we managed so often in 2017/18.

Obviously the three points is what’s most important, but some goals for the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane would be massively beneficial to increase their confidence going into another Premier League weekend.
