Jamie Carragher has hailed both Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho – calling them both ‘excellent’ following the Reds’ win over Red Star Belgrade.
Fabinho, in particular, was exceptional both in possession and out of it as he produced a performance that looks like he’s found his feet.

The Brazilian had struggled for game time and when he had been given opportunities, it looked as if he was off the pace – but not tonight. It’s almost like Jurgen Klopp knew what he was doing when it came to bedding him in slowly!
Shaqiri, meanwhile, popped up all over the pitch and provided a link between midfield and attack perfectly. We are delighted to see both summer signings looking right at home.
