Liverpool fans & journalists jump on Anthony Martial news

Liverpool correspondents such as Dave Maddock, Ian Doyle and Sam McGuire have all spoken up Liverpool approaching Manchester United for Anthony Martial, who has rejected our rival’s latest contract extension.

Sky Sports shared this news, with the Frenchman’s current deal running out at the end of this campaign.

However, United can activate a clause which extends his contract for a year, which they undoubtedly will, meaning Martial effectively has two years to run.

Loads of fans are making the same Martial/Klopp point after £180k fine…

Martial is monumentally talented but has been stifled by Jose Mourinho and the Portuguese manager’s stale brand of football. This term, the France international has four goals in all competitions, but has not been a regular starter.

His pace and trickery would be perfect for our frontline, in rotation with our current world-class attackers of course – but let’s be honest: it’s not going to happen!

The last time Liverpool bought a player directly from United was Phil Chisnall in 1964… It literally doesn’t happen anymore.

The fume from our rivals would be special, but this one is Twitter speculation only!
