Hoffenheim star confirms Reds have an interest in him

Hoffenheim and Germany midfield Kerem Demirbay has confirmed that Reds scouts were in attendance during his club’s match with Stuttgart – and says he is sure he can handle the scrutiny.

Demirbay came on as a substitute in the first half of the game, which ended 4-0 to his team, and was quoted by Sky Germany as saying: “Of course I noticed that [Liverpool scouts were there]. I can handle it.”

The midfielder certainly has talent and at 25 is the perfect age for the Reds to target as he approaches his peak, but his best scoring record in a top-flight league season saw him score just six times, and he spent a lot of last season out injured.

Demirbay is under contract until 2022 and it remains to be seen whether the scouts have seen enough for Jurgen Klopp to make a big-money move.
