Key Arsenal player now a major doubt for Liverpool clash

Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Hector Bellerin ahead of Saturday’s crunch clash with Liverpool.

Goal’s Neil Jones reports that the Spanish fullback is a doubt for the Emirates tie – after limping off against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

He won’t be available for the midweek Carabao Cup game with Blackpool and is unlikely to be available for the clash with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

As a result, Stephen Lichtsteiner will probably play at right-back and and Granit Xhaka will play left-back, with Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac both injured.

On top of the injured defenders El Neny and Kolscielny are also out.

Liverpool are not without our own problems of course. Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are both doubts, but will go for late fitness tests in an attempt to make the bench.

Without the midfielders, Gini Wijnaldum and Fabinho will likely start alongside James Milner in a central three – providing us stability and legs.
