And in fairness, this is largely true. The German is a brilliant player and someone who gets unfair criticism in England.
So this stat isn’t necessarily to demean Ozil, but to show how brilliant Mo Salah is.
Since he arrived at Liverpool, Salah has two more assists than Arsenal’s playmaker…
He also has 51 goals, while Ozil has registered nine in the same period of time.
We’d still describe Ozil as an elite footballer, so for Salah to be destroying him in terms of goals and assists demonstrates the levels our no.11 has reached.
Salah is in top form again after an apparently slow start to the season and has four goals and three assists in Liverpool’s past three victories.
We hope for more of the same on Saturday, when Jurgen Klopp’s Reds travel south to the Emirates.
