Henderson & Keita return match named

Posted by

Jurgen Klopp today told a press-conference that tomorrow’s game against Arsenal has come too soon for Naby Keita and skipper Jordan Henderson.

We also have a Champions League tie with Red Star that the boss intimated they’ll miss too, but suggested if we had a match on Friday next week – they’d be fully fit.

Of course, Liverpool play Fulham next Saturday lunchtime, so both should be available for the winnable Anfield tie.

In the absence of Hendo and our Guinean summer signing, who as of yet has not been able to fulfil his early promise, Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum are certainties to start. James Milner is also likely to play alongside the Brazilian and Dutchman in a midfield three that provides physicality, work-rate and hopefully the ability to transition defence to attack.

Arsenal’s midfield will likely comprise of Aaron Ramsey and Lucas Torreira, with Mesut Ozil as a no.10. Matteo Guendouzi is suspended and Granit Xhaka is being used a makeshift left-back because of injuries to Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

A win will see us go to the top of the table, temporarily at least, with Manchester City playing Southampton on Sunday.
