Manchester City suffer potentially nasty injury to key player v Fulham

Manchester City have been jaw-dropping this season without their best player Kevin de Bruyne, which simply proves how good they actually are.

The Belgian has yet to make a Premier League start due to injury and against Fulham in the League Cup last night, hurt his knee again.

“It’s being checked by the doctor. Right now I don’t know if it’s nothing or something serious,” Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports after the game.

If Liverpool lost Mo Salah, or another one of our very best players, for such a period of time, it would have a devastating effect on our season – but so far – City have dealt with de Bruyne’s absence exceptionally.

We obviously don’t wish an injury on anybody, but it’ll be interesting to see how Pep continues to cope without the 27-year-old, who was the best player in the country last season bar Salah.

Bernardo Silva and David Silva will likely continue as roaming no.8s either side of the superb Fernandinho, who holds the side and provides it the platform it needs to succeed.

Hopefully Southampton or Manchester United can do us a favour over the next two weekends and take some points from our biggest title rivals!
