Milner: How Reds can improve on Arsenal showing

James Milner, who was probably the Reds’ best player in the second half against Arsenal, was disappointed that his side could not collect all three points at the Emirates.

According to The Express, he said: “It’s disappointing when you are 1-0 up late on you should see it out and we didn’t manage to do that. At both ends of the field, we can do better.

“The pleasing thing is the chances we created. I didn’t know that was my 50th Premier League goal which is nice but it would have been nicer to get three points.”

Milner also pinpointed the first half as being something to work on.

He added: “We could have kept our shape better in the first half, we needed to be more solid, that’s something to learn from. We were better in the second half and were a threat from set-pieces.”

Milner’s goal was an excellent, controlled finish – it was a real disappointment that it didn’t prove to be the winner.
