Liverpool have appointed Dassler Marques, the respected Brazilian journalist, as a talent scout for South America.
Marques announced his new role on Twitter a few days back, and here is a translation of what was said:
“After learning, dreams and especially making friends, I left UOL today. Time to fly out of journalism, learn new things, make other dreams and make new friends on a new team. I now work as a scout (observer) for Liverpool in Brazil and other latin countries.”

Marques was renowned for his reporting on UOL, the most reliable Brazilian publication – so we hope his skills are transferrable.
(We wonder if Liverpool will give EOTK a scouting role, in fact?!)
Liverpool currently have three Brazilians in our first-team in Fabinho, Alisson and Roberto Firmino, but all three were expensive buys from fellow European sides.

Perhaps now we’ll see a few more young South American stars head over and join our youth set-up, although they cannot legally arrive until they turn 18.
