Mirror’s John Cross names new Liverpool transfer target

He rarely writes about Liverpool, with duties on the Mirror usually left to Dave Maddock, but the paper’s Chief Football Writer John Cross has made a claim regarding the Reds and a prospective new striker.

Cross reckons Liverpool and Arsenal will now go head to head for prodigal Belgian attacker Cyril Ngonge, who’s been lighting up the UEFA Youth League for Club Brugge…

The competition runs alongside the Champions League, with the same clubs competing, but at U19 level – so Brugge are in a group with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco.

Ngonge has scored four goals so far and has impressed scouts enormously in the process.

The 18-year-old has tremendously quick feet, can beat a man and finish. His best position looks like it’s one of the wide roles of a 4-3-3, as you can see in this video below, which is highlights of Brugge’s clash with Dortmund. The no.11 is easily Brugge’s best player and could have a hat-trick.
