Liverpool have been credited with an interest in prodigal young attacker Vilius Piliukaitis, who is currently on loan at Blackburn from Lithuania’s National Football Academy.
The 17-year-old has been tearing it up at youth level and has shone in clashes with West Brom and Manchester City.
As a result, teamTALK claim that ourselves, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are all interested in clinching his services.
“Vilius has emerged as one of the best young players we have seen in years,” a source from Blackburn told teamTALK. “They knew he was talented before he arrived but he is surpassed expectations massively and now it is little surprise that the interest is so high.”
We know nothing about Piliukaitis apart from this report, but we’ll watch what happens with intrigue.
Liverpool’s U18s are flying currently and have won their past nine matches altogether. Paul Glatzel and Bobby Duncan have been the stars, but there’s a number of teenagers who we have high hopes for.
Perhaps Piliukaitis will become another.
