During the warmup, before Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Fulham yesterday, Virgil van Dijk completely unnecessarily nutmegged his team-mate Mo Salah – who was just doing his stretches!
Van Dijk is a ludicrously composed footballer, but he seems pretty relaxed before matches as well, evidently.
We’d suggest that the Dutchman and the Egyptian are our two most important players, actually. Van Dijk has transformed our backline since arriving in January, while Salah has notched 52 goals since signing in summer 2017.
If we’re to win trophies this term, we need both fit throughout and preferably on top of their games, too.
